Transport links


By car

Road links to Sidmouth are excellent putting it within around 3 hours' drive from London via M4/M25/M3/A303/A30/A375. From the Midlands and the North, use the M5 via Exeter or exit M5 at Taunton then A358/A303/A30/A375.

Other driving times: Birmingham 2hrs 40mins, Manchester 4 hours, Leeds 4hrs 20 mins, Newcastle-upon-Tyne: 5 hrs 40 mins, Ipswich 4 hrs 10 mins. Check out The AA for route planning.

By train The nearest railway station is Honiton (10 miles).
The 52B bus takes you to Sidmouth and takes 35 minutes (see timetable from 10/1/11)
By bus

There are regular buses linking Sidmouth to Exeter and surrounding towns.
The triangle bus station is about 3 minutes walk from Torbay View.

From 23 May – 30 September (excluding Folk Week) there is an hourly free Hopper bus which operates between Peak Hill and the Donkey Sanctuary and stops at the Bedford Lawn bus stop on the hour between 09:54 and 16:54. It is also a hail and ride service.

By air Exeter International Airport is about 10 miles from Sidmouth and operates up to 160 flights a week from the UK, Europe and some worldwide destinations.
A number of car hire companies operate in or near the airport.
